Subject: Nadia Comaneci's Granddaughter - absolutely amazing!

REMEMBER NADIA COMANECCI? SHE WAS A ROMANIAN ATHLETE THAT WAS 14 YEARS OLD IN THE 1960's, WON MEDALS IN THE OLYMPIADS AND WOULD ATTEND COMPETITIONS HOLDING HER TEDDY BEAR?

WELL, THE ATTACHED IS HER GRANDDAUGHTER !!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!

Detailed Analysis
According to the text that accompanies a viral video that circulates via email as well as YouTube and other social media, the gifted young gymnast depicted in the footage is none other than the granddaughter of famous Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci. The message claims that Comaneci was 14 years old in the 1960’s when she won medals at the Olympic Games.

However, the claims in the message are false. The gymnast shown in the video – a Bulgarian named Boyanka Angelova – is not even related to Nadia Comaneci, much less her granddaughter. Moreover, Comaneci was not 14 and performing at Olympic Games during the 1960’s as claimed in the message. Comaneci was born in 1961 and did not even start gymnastics until 1967, at the age of 6. The Romania born gymnast won three gold medals at the 1976 Olympic Games and won further medals at the 1980 Games.

And, as yet, she does not have a granddaughter, gymnast or otherwise. Nadia and her gymnast husband Bart Conner, have one son who was born in June 2006.

Boyanka Angelova, the Bulgarian gymnast featured in the above video, was born in 1994. The video shows her performance at the 2008 European championships in Turin, in which she came in second. Boyanka Angelova can also be seen in the following video from the 2010 Thiais Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix:
