Protest Message Rails Against New Facebook Timeline

The following message, which is currently circulating rapidly on Facebook, protests against the forced implementation of Facebook's new Timeline feature and asks users to repost as many times as possible in an effort to get Facebook to change its mind on the issue.
I DO NOT WANT TO BE FORCED INTO THE NEW TIMELINE FACEBOOK PAGE!! I CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WHEN I GO ONTO OTHER PEOPLE'S PAGES. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SHOVED DOWN OUR THROATS, WE SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION OF CHOOSING THIS IF WE WANT IT.. WHY DOES ZYNGA KEEP CHANGING THINGS? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WAY IT IS? I, FOR ONE, DO NOT WANT THE NEW LOOK! IF YOU AGREE RE-POST THIS. IT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY WAY THEY LISTEN TO US!! ** RE-POSTING AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE!!!
It is true that Facebook is slowly rolling out the new Timeline and users will not have a choice
about its implementation. Timeline will eventually become the standard and compulsory profile format for all users. The impending change has caused considerable concern
among many users.
The wording of the above protest message has caused some confusion among users because it first rails against Facebook for its Timeline and then criticizes game provider Zynga for continually changing things. It is unclear if the reference to Zynga is a mistake and the message's author really meant Facebook or if he or she is intentionally directing the message to both companies.
In my opinion at least, it seems rather doubtful that sending on this garbled, ALL CAPS message will do much to help change Facebook's mind on the issue. You could alternatively register your concerns via Facebook's community page
, although I suspect that will also have little impact on Facebook's plans. Especially given that Facebook has rarely budged on such issues in the past, despite oceans of user angst.
Perhaps a more practical solution is simply to accept the change and get on with it. After all, Facebook offers an entirely free service to its users and are therefore free to do what they like. And users are of course free to leave at any time. In fact, every time Facebook makes a significant change to it service there are similar howls of outrage for a while, with many users vowing to close their accounts. But, nevertheless, Facebook never seems to get any less popular.
Moreover, while many have ardently expressed their displeasure at the new Timeline, there are also plenty that like it. And I am one of them. I've been using Timeline for several weeks now, and I must say I like it immensely and consider it a significant improvement over the old profile.

page. Have a look. Once you get your head around the Timeline concept, you might find that the impending change is not really that bad after all.
