Black Lion Facebook Hoax

Issue 133 Start Menu

Previous Article            Next Article

Message circulating rapidly on Facebook asks users to "like" a photograph purportedly depicting an entirely black lion.

Comments and submissions indicate that many users believe that the image really shows a black lion. However, the lion depicted in the image is not actually black. In fact, the image is the result of the digital manipulation of a photograph depicting a white lion. The image is the work of digital artist Pavol Dvorský (PAulie-SVK) and can be viewed in its original context on the DeviantArt website.

The source image used in the digital manipulation can be seen on the Cute Home Pets website.
