Hoax-Slayer Affiliate Marketing Policy
In order to generate revenue from the Hoax-Slayer website and newsletter, I participate in a limited number of affiliate marketing programs. The site and newsletter may include reviews or recommendations for carefully chosen affiliate products. If a reader buys a product as a result of one of these reviews or recommendations, I receive a percentage of the purchase price. Revenue from affiliate marketing provides vital financial support to Hoax-Slayer and allows me to continue expanding the website and publishing the newsletter for free.
Affiliate Marketing is a very common and totally legitimate method for vendors to increase product sales and for website owners to generate income. Unfortunately, some affiliate marketers may use dubious or dishonest methods in order to increase sales. Unscrupulous marketers may try to palm off generic promotional material supplied by the vendor as an "independent review" of a product they have never even used. They may also knowingly promote inferior or over-priced products just to increase sales.
My integrity is important to me, and I certainly will not compromise it by using underhand tactics just to sell a few extra affiliate products. I have therefore formulated the following Affiliate Marketing Policy.
Affiliate Marketing Policy:
- I only review or recommend products that I have purchased myself and thoroughly tested. Products I review or recommend are ones that I have bought for my own use, found to be outstanding and continue to use.
- I only review or recommend products that I truly believe are useful, safe, sold by ethical vendors and represent good value to buyers.
- Reviews or recommendations reflect my own thoughts and opinions about a product and are entirely my own words. I will never attempt to incorporate promotional material provided by the vendor as part of a review or recommendation.
Note:
The Affiliate Marketing Policy included above applies to reviews or in text recommendations of affiliate products that are included on the site or in the newsletter. It is not applicable to contextual or direct advertising that may also appear on the website
