We are voluntarily recalling our 39g Caramilk eggs for the possible presence of small pieces of plastic from the molds used to make them. These eggs are available in three flavours: 39g Caramilk egg, 39g Caramilk Maple egg, and 39g Caramilk Café egg. There has been one reported injury to a consumer whose mouth was cut by a shard of plastic.
Consumer safety and trust in our company are of top importance. The overwhelming majority of eggs are fine, and the odds of a consumer finding any foreign material is very slim. We are voluntarily recalling the eggs because of the possibility.
This recall ONLY applies to the three flavours of 39 gram Caramilk eggs. No other products in our Easter portfolio, including Cadbury Crème Eggs, are affected by this recall.
We have identified the source of this potential issue, and it has been rectified. This potential issue is specific to one piece of equipment, on one production line, and involves only the 39g Caramilk eggs.
