Detailed Analysis

This message, which is currently circulating rapidly around the Interwebs, tells the creepy tale of how a man keeps receiving Facebook messages from his dead girlfriend.

According to the story, almost 13 months after the girl died in a car accident, the author began receiving messages from her account.

But, of course, the story is a work of fiction and does not describe genuine ghostly happenings.  The tale was first posted to NoSleep, a Reddit community billed as a 'place to share your original scary story'.

Since it was posted to NoSleep in early July 2014, it has apparently escaped its original confines. It has been posted to other websites and now circulates via social media, scaring a few more wide-eyed recipients as it travels. It is an entertaining story, certainly, but just a story none-the-less.
