Facebook 'Blocked Account' Scam Email

Outline
Email purporting to be from Facebook claims that you have blocked your Facebook account and will need to follow links in the message in order to login and reactivate it.

Analysis
The message is certainly not from Facebook. The email is a criminal ruse designed to trick Facebook users into submitting their account login details and/or installing malware on their computers. The email includes a seemingly legitimate Facebook logo and colour scheme to make its claims seem more valid.

Subject lines and other details in the messages vary. A number of compromised websites have been used in different incarnations of the scam, many of which have already been disabled. Some examples include links to three different scam websites in the same message.

If your receive this message or one like it, do not click on any of the links that it includes. Always log into your Facebook account by entering the web address into your browser's address bar rather than by clicking a link in an email.
