PASADENA, California -

Detailed Analysis

Report Claims Jim Parsons Has Quit Big Bang

According to a report circulating rapidly via social media, Jim Parsons has quit popular TV comedy show 'Big Bang Theory'.  The report claims that Parsons, who plays much loved character Sheldon Cooper, walked off the set and quit after an on-set argument with fellow actor Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter).

The report also claims that there has been ongoing tension between Parsons and Galecki for some time.

Report is False

However, the claims in the report are untrue.  There are no credible reports that suggest that Jim Parsons has quit the show after an on-set argument.  And, the claim that filming for the 8th season has been underway since June is also false. At the time of writing, filming has not yet commenced with the first taping set for August 8, 2014.

Furthermore, there is no evidence to support the claims that Parsons and Galecki regularly argue on-set and do not get along

Report From Fake-News Website Empire News

Pay Dispute and Quitting Rumours Circulating

While the Empire News story is false, there have been rumours that Jim Parsons might really be planning to leave the show. Given that his character 'left' at the end of the previous season, some commentators have postulated that the actor may not be returning for the next series.

However, the 'leaving' rumours so far remain unsubstantiated.

There are also claims that filming of the new series may be delayed or cancelled due to ongoing pay negotiations. The show's principal actors are reportedly demanding massive pay rises.

But other industry sources suggest that the cast and producers are expected to reach a deal before filming is set to begin.

Only time will tell.  But, rest assured that the claim that Jim Parsons has already quit due to an argument with Johnny Galecki is not true.
