PHISHING SCAM - Amazon 'Password Reset Request' Email
OutlineEmail purporting to be from Amazon claims that the company has received a password reset request from an unrecognized device. Recipients are advised to protect their accounts by following a verification procedure outlined in an attached file.
The email is not from Amazon. It is a phishing scam designed to trick recipients into giving their account details and other personal information to criminals.The attached file contains a form that asks for the user's Amazon account login credentials as well as credit card details and name and address information.Any information submitted on the fake form can be collected by criminals and used to hijack the victim's Amazon account. The stolen data can also be used to commit credit card fraud and identity theft.
